LAAX, Switzerland (Jan. 17, 2008) – Americans Jamie Anderson and Shaun White dominated today’s slopestyle finals at the Burton European Open, both claiming the first BEO championship titles of their careers. Jamie and Shaun each earned $10,000 USD, 1000 TTR Ranking Points and 8000 points toward the Burton Global Open Series Championship Title, which awards $100,000 to both the male and female BGOS point leaders after the US Open.

BEO Halfpipe Women’s Qualifications & Men’s Pre-Qualification Wraps Up

LAAX, Switzerland (Jan. 14, 2008) – Linn Haug (NOR) placed first in today’s women’s halfpipe qualifiers and Nick Larson (USA) took the top spot in the men’s halfpipe pre-qualifiers.

43 women competed in today’s qualifiers for only four spots in the halfpipe semifinals, where they will compete against top champions like Torah Bright (AUS), Kelly Clark (USA) and Hannah Teter (USA). Linn Haug took the lead with a solid run that included a frontside nose grab, method air, frontside 720, Japan air, frontside stalefish, McTwist finishing with an air-to-fakie nose grab.

Sébastien Toutant Ranked First in Men’s Slopestyle Qualifications


LAAX, Switzerland (Jan. 13, 2008) – Fifteen-year-old Canadian rider Sébastien Toutant, who also won the BEO junior slopestyle event this weekend, had the highest score in today’s men’s slopestyle qualifications. 2007 Air & Style Rookie Session winner Tim Humphreys qualified in second place. LAAX, Switzerland (Jan. 12, 2008) – Today at the Burton European Open, the juniors took over the massive BEO halfpipe up on Crap Sogn Gion for the finals competition under heavy snowfall. At 9:00 a.m., there was over 30 cm of new snow on the ground, and the snow continued to fall heavily all day.
